We offer rodeo events to all of our competitors. We have competitors of all ages, but mostly "it is all about the children" as our beloved president reminds us, at almost every horseshow. We hold horseshows every month with a few exceptions.
The arena is owned by the Hendry County Board of Commissioners Recreation Board, and was just recently renovated to it's present status. It is continuously being improved and soon we hope to have an even better rodeo facility than we already have.
We have the capability to hold numerous types of events at this arena. They range from horseshows (with pee-wee to adult riders) to full scale rodeos with every kind of event in between. We offer the arena any night during the week to all of our members who want to do a little practice time. There have been times that we offer timed practices for all of you speed event competitors. Why don't you come out and join us, soon.
The horseshows that are held each month are timed events. Every competitor is issued a ribbon and a point level is assigned to each place up to 6th. Our contestants are competing for the highest points at each horseshow. At the end of the season the points are added up and whoever has the highest can win a saddle. There is a saddle prize for each division. There are also many other great prizes to be awarded at the end of the year banquet.
The Bull Pit Ministry is held at the arena and is one of the most popular events. They are a separate from the Labelle Family Livestock Club, but we thought we should give them a little advertisement on our website. It is run by Mike MacDowell and his wife Vicky, with lots of helpers. The competitors range from the pee-wee mutton busters all the way to the big bad bull riders. This event is held every month at the arena.
Our facility also has an excellent concession stand, complete with restrooms. The lighting and footing in the arena is also excellent as well.
